Internet forums are home to some of the worst comments on any subject, but I actually uncovered more good than bad about BetOnline. In Trustpilot, this site is rated 3.6/5, which is extremely positive, compared to other online casinos.

What the Casino Says

BetOnline responded to each Trustpilot comment with polite appreciation, often saying, “If you are open to discussing the issue further, we would be happy to hear from you,” or “Thanks for the positive feedback.” However, they did not offer any explanations.

This happens all too often: a customer tries to cash out without meeting the bonus terms and conditions. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible. Once you claim a promotion, you must complete the rollover requirements.

Myths Busted About BetOnline

Here are a couple of notions about BetOnline that should be challenged,

BetOnline bonuses are clearly geared toward sportsbook players. In fact, there were only two bonuses that casino-only players could use while I was there. The deposit bonuses generally involved sports betting bonus money. 

You can use the deposit portion of these bonuses to play in the casino, but the bonus portion of the balance is only deployable for sports betting.

This arrangement is probably good for most casino players because the general terms and bonus rules do not stipulate playthrough requirements. So, when they do offer casino deposit bonus matches, the playthroughs can be high. Plus, they have unusual conditions like this one I found in their casino rules:

“Once bonus rollover requirements are complete, the entire player balance must be rolled over five times.”

That’s a rollover on top of a rollover I have only seen at Sportsbetting.ag, their sister site.

There is no playthrough on the spins winnings, but the winnings limit is $100. The minimum deposit is $20, so I took it. Again, the no playthrough makes it worthwhile. 

Other Offers I Reviewed

The remainder of the casino bonuses when I was there were contests for special prizes. The standout promotion was the $25,000 Daily Cash Race, available for wagering on all platforms except poker.

There was also a $10,000 “Take The Prize” for specific casino games, a Game of the Week contest, cash tournaments for various slots and table games, and a Live Casino Challenge. Some of these promotions had rollover requirements on winnings.

They also have a seven-level VIP rewards program in which you receive increasing bonuses, rebates, and other privileges as you move up the ladder. You advance to the second level after $10,000 in wagers; third level after betting $50,000; fourth level, $100,000, and so on. 

The only straightforward bonus I found was a referral bonus, which offered 50% up to $100. You could choose between a sports, casino, or poker bonus.

BetOnline hosts a large game library. I discovered a collection of around 990 games during my visit. The number varies because game providers continually update their selections. 

I like that you can click on each game category title and use a search feature to find games. However, they don’t break down searches into game makers, reel numbers, or themes, as some large-library casinos do. 

Each game I explored had comprehensive instructions, return-to-player (RTP) percentages, and/or payline tables.

But you can’t try any of the games for free. That’s somewhat frustrating if you want to try games you haven’t seen before.I wanted to take on the ‘Space Invasion’ skill game but didn’t want to blow money learning it.

Software Providers

BetOnline does not list its software providers, but I was able to spot titles from Rival, Betsoft, BGaming, Arrow’s Edge, and Dragon Gaming.

My Top Game Picks

Although my gaming session wasn’t the best, I enjoyed playing some familiar titles.

Deuces Wild

This version by Rival Gaming has a paytable that best accommodates optimal strategy, offering the near-100% RTP you should expect from video poker.

I had tech problems with this one but played it to even in 25 deals.

Jacks or Better

This is another high RTP game for which I know strategy. This Rival game also has a format and play speed I like.

Playing another 25 deals at $0.10 each, I lost $1.30, but I’ll play this in the future until I find a game with a better paytable.

American Blackjack

Blackjack is always a favorite of mine, and I use strategy. This standard pay game allowed doubling down on splits.

It had a minimum bet of $1, so I set win-loss limits and lost about $4 in 18 hands.

Baccarat

This Betsoft version has a standard pay setup and is one I had won with before.

I played Banker through 25 deals and lost about $1.50 on $1 minimum bets.

88 Frenzy Fortune

This was the only winning slot I played besides the free spins slots, and because I have a good record with it from previous games, I’ll seek it out in the future.

It is a relatively simple single payline with a 96% RTP.

Slots

Slots are the backbone of any casino, and BetOnline is loaded with them.

In fact, the 787 slots in their collection are almost too many for exploring. Unless you have a favorite title for search purposes, you can spend all day scanning and scrolling for a slot that may suit you.

And if you spot one you may like, plan on spending cash right off because there is no free-play option for trials.

If you are an online slots fan, you’ll recognize titles such as Mythic Wolf, Reel Crime, Greedy Goblins, and The Slotfather. All of the reel and payline configurations are there, and you can bet from pennies up to $250 at one slot I discovered. 

BetOnline promises progressive slots but does not mark any on display, and I didn’t find any.

They would not count toward a bonus playthrough, anyway. Any other slots credit 100% toward rollovers. 

Blackjack

The all-time favorite casino table game is well represented at BetOnline Casino. There were 30 versions of online blackjack.

The top bonus jackpot game I found was Supreme 777 Jackpots that, dealing from a six-deck shoe, paid over $100,000 if your first three cards were 7s of spades. 

The side-bets games have lower overall RTPs. However, you will find single-hand, multi-hand, single-deck, and multi-deck games.

The minimum bets are $1 and maximums were usually $500. BetOnline also hosts blackjack tournaments regularly.

While I was here, a weeklong points tournament was offering $1,500 in prize money, $120 to the winner.

There were no rollover requirements for winnings. Because blackjack carries a high RTP, bonus players will be credited just 10% of their wagers toward playthroughs.

Roulette

This iconic wheel game remains a favorite because of the numerous wagering angles. BetOnline features nearly 20 roulette games, some with more than those traditional angles.

You’ll find variations that offer multiplied winnings for numbers the game chooses after bets are made. 

The multipliers on some of those go up to 500x, but the bet ranges are narrower. 

The standard games offer $1 total minimums for both inside (numbers) and outside (groups) bets. You can spread out to as much as $6,000 on spins at some tables. 

BetOnline was running a weeklong roulette tournament when I was there. It offered $1,500 in prizes with no wagering restrictions attached to winnings.

I didn’t hit the roulette tables when I visited, but it looks like a great site for people who play the game regularly. It is a high RTP game, so if you are facing a bonus rollover, you’ll get just 20% credit on your wagering.

Other Table Games

BetOnline rounds out its collection of table games with some casino favorites and other games such as various forms of casino poker. The favorites include a craps game and six versions of baccarat.

I have had good luck playing Banker on the Betsoft version, but not on my latest session; I dropped $1.50 in 25 deals of minimum $1 wagers.

The other BetOnline table games are an assortment of popular card games you play against the house.

They include pokers such as Pai Gow, Let it Ride, and Caribbean. There are also three versions of Hold ‘em vs. the house and a table of the Eastern favorite, Teen Patti.

These games usually have proven strategies that make them winners and fun to play. Because you have good chances, the bonus playthrough crediting is 5% or less.

Video Poker

BetOnline carries 23 versions of video poker, including single and multi-hand variations.

You’ll find standard Jacks or Better, plus all kinds of wild card games that don’t hit as frequently but pay well when they do. 

You can shop around with these games by comparing paytables for the jackpot royal flush payouts and the more common full-house and flush winners. The Deuces & Joker game pays a 2000:1 jackpot.

I usually look for Deuces Wild and Jacks or Better games. While playing at BetOnline, I broke even playing Deuces Wild and lost a little at Jacks or Better. You can bet a nickel up to $50 a hand. 

But video poker isn’t a good game for paying off a bonus playthrough. These games count only 10% toward the rollover.  

specialty Games

Though there are no big lottery jackpots, you can find as many scratch cards at BetOnline as you will at your local lottery outlet.

I saw 33 scratch-offs and they offer jackpots as high as $100,000 on a $1 try. You can go lower and pay 25 cents for a chance at $5,000 and just about anything in between. 

BetOnline offers two 80-number keno games, a series of crash games, Plinko, wheel games, and even a skill game called Space Invasion, which plays a little like the classic Space Invaders arcade game from the 1970s. 

And they have a Casino Solitaire game you hardly ever see at online casinos these days.

I played the Punt crash game and took a $2.50 loss. Specialty games vary in what they pay toward bonus playthroughs, so if you are playing out a bonus, check the rules for how your game applies.

Live Dealer Games

BetOnline goes a step further than most online casinos because they have about as many live tables as any casino in Vegas.

I discovered 68 live dealer games. Some titles included blackjack, roulette, and baccarat, plus other card, dice, numbers, and wheel games you won’t find at other sites. 

The bet ranges are more like real casinos, too. High rollers can put down as much as $50,000 on a blackjack game, but more conservative players can play for as little as $5.

The games have instructions, and the layouts I checked out are simple to follow in terms of betting, choosing options, and chatting.

I could not afford many games, but I clicked into a $1 baccarat game and dropped $3.55 in 15 hands. The game stalled for about 20 seconds during that span, but I did not lose money or much action. Live dealer games are off-limits for players using bonuses.

Betonline Poker Room Review 

Not all casinos have poker rooms, but BetOnline allows casino players and poker regulars. You can download a poker app or play through your browser, just like the casino.

You sign in with a special screen name, and your playable casino balance will be transferred over for play. 

The poker room offers typical no-limit Hold’em and pot-limit Omaha games, along with various Hold’em and Omaha tournaments. However, I didn’t find any fixed-limit or pot-limit Hold’em games or other stud or draw games.

The stakes for ring games start at $.05/$.10 blinds and go up $5/$10 blinds. The minimum buy-ins are 20x the small blind. 

The BetOnline poker tournament section seems to have a lot going on, more than at many poker sites.

They were taking registration for more than 150 events with prizes ranging from $20 to $250,000 for main events. Entry fees range from $1 to $215, with some freerolls available.

Poker bonuses are released based on rake contribution, with every $50 of rake earning $5 of the bonus. The poker welcome bonus is a 100% match up to $1,000 with a minimum deposit of $50.

BetOnline accommodates more banking methods than most online casinos.

However, some methods have fees, particularly credit cards for deposits and popular cryptocurrencies for withdrawals. The Help Center’s Cashier section provides detailed instructions for making transactions on the site.

I have found that Bitcoin is the way to go with most online casinos. It is generally faster, easier, and cheaper than most methods.

However, whether or not caused by blockchain traffic at the time, my $20 BTC transfer took nearly 30 minutes to go through.

Credit card deposits involve a fee, and other non-crypto options take longer.

My Recommended Payout Method

Bitcoin is generally the fastest and easiest method to receive payouts. But BetOnline can only promise a “variable” fee for Bitcoin and other popular cryptocurrencies because heavy blockchain traffic apparently costs the site more to process, and they relay that cost to you.

It’s better to use a less popular, fee-free crypto such as Bitcoin Cash or Litecoin. I did not withdraw from BetOnline but having Litecoin, I would probably use that.

All of the other options carry fees.

Here’s How I Tested

Here is my experience with each channel. 

Playing games at BetOnline was mostly enjoyable. Except for the Deuces Wild game that kept failing on me, most games loaded within a minute and played smoothly.

I did experience occasional freezes in some games, but the casino didn’t take any money during these glitches.
