Royal Vegas Casino Review Summary

Royal Vegas Casino caters to Canadians, so my US-bank-backed card wasn’t accepted.

I didn’t mind—they’ve got their own rules, and at least I could play for free. What did bother me, though, were the strict bonus terms and limited customer service options.

Still, I enjoyed exploring the games, even if it wasn’t with real money.

What I Loved

  • A good collection of fun games including many you won’t find elsewhere.
  • Live casino full of choices beyond the standard table games.
  • Licensing through jurisdictions that require fair games.

Room for Improvement

  • Stiff rules make it hard to justify taking advantage of bonuses and contests.
  • Chat is the only channel for getting questions answered beyond the Help Centre.
  • No cryptocurrency transactions allowed.
  • No US players allowed.

My Gambling Session

I didn’t go all in with a deposit because I’m from the US, and Royal Vegas doesn’t allow it.

Instead, I spent two hours trying out games for free and another six exploring the site and reviewing their terms. I played with maximum units on video poker, blackjack, roulette, five slots, and two specialty games.

Starting with 100,000 credits, I ended up with 96,505 after about 250 spins or rounds—right around a typical return-to-player rate.

Royal Vegas gets mixed reviews from players who contribute to various forums.

The most recent here are from Trustpilot and are from 2024. The complaints surround delayed payments and documentation, a forewarning on having your ID docs in order and withdrawing in increments smaller than $1,000.

Won $800 Twice

“The only casino I’ve actually won something decent on and had no problem cashing out. Won around $800 twice. When I sent in my documentation, everything was approved fairly quick.”

— Kaaylaaz (AskGamblers)

3 Weeks of No Withdrawal Approval

“It’s so terrible because I have withdrawn twice here already since 2021. But now that I have won again this 2024 and withdrawn $3000, it’s been 3 weeks, and I have not gotten my withdrawal yet because they do not approve my documents!!”

— Revelene Fame Mandac (Trustpilot)

Succesful Payout

“After a few weeks of back-and-forth communication, the casino did give me the withdrawal!! Thanks again for taking care of this.”

— Stacie Frowley (Trustpilot)

Ridiculous Bonus Rules

“Just don’t. They have ridiculous bonus rules and when you win, even though I am already verified, they still are delaying asking for all kinds of impossible documents. Over 10k is owed to me, but they have been delaying over a month trying to find excuses.”

— Christinats (Trustpilot)

My Thoughts About Royal Vegas Reputation

Royal Vegas has a reputation that’s a bit of a gamble itself.

Some players experience smooth withdrawals and enjoyable wins, but there’s a consistent pattern of complaints around delayed payouts and extra documentation requirements, especially for larger withdrawals.

My takeaway? While the casino can offer a good gaming experience, it’s wise to keep your ID documents updated and expect potential delays if you’re cashing out significant amounts.

For those who prefer quicker payouts without much back-and-forth, this might be something to consider before diving in.

2.0

Royal Vegas offers a welcome bonus in four stages that can add up to $1,200 in bonus money, as well as a variety of daily bonuses, slot prize drops, and contests for special players.

With the possible exception of the welcome offer, none of these promotions are very good deals because of rollover requirements. While the Welcome Bonus has only a 35 times playthrough requirement, the prize drops and contests have 70x rollovers on winnings, which take the fun out of a significant win.

The daily deposit matches change each day and come with specific requirements for each offer. I would not take up any of these offers unless the requirements are made clear through the bonus or support.

The casino also has a series of pools and contests. There are random prize drops for playing certain slots. They drop hourly for a chance at a prize in the hundreds of dollars, with one major jackpot that can reach in the hundreds of thousands.

But they have a wagering requirement of 70x on winnings, which could commit you to a lifetime of gambling if you strike big. If you gamble at the site for a while, you may qualify for a daily bonus wheel spin and other tournaments.

You are eligible for the prize wheel by clearing your welcome bonus, and you get invitations to tournaments if you are an upper-level rewards player.

While many of the promotions at Royal Vegas don’t quite hit the mark, the welcome bonus stands out as a solid deal. It’s one of the few offers here that gives you decent value, making it worth considering if you’re signing up

Royal Vegas casino $1,200 Welcome Bonus

Royal Vegas Casino Welcome Bonus

This is the only bonus I recommend because of the reasonable playthrough requirement on the bonus amount.

It comes in four stages, each being a 100% match for up to $300, plus 10 free spins each day for a chance to win $1,000,000 on specific slots.

The bonus amount and the free spins winnings come with 35x playthrough requirements.

The bonus does not expire until you cash in. You may not need that unlimited time to clear the 35x requirement on the bonus because you can deposit as little as $10 to qualify.

The only downside is that the free spins have a 70x rollover.

But if you happen to hit big on the free spins, clearing the 70x could be impossible. For instance, a $5,000 slots strike would give you a $175,000 playthrough to clear.

Royal Vegas vs Other Casinos – Welcome Bonus

My Perspective on Royal Vegas Bonuses

I generally don’t take advantage of bonuses because the playthrough stipulations don’t make the extra funds worth having.

I might have taken up the Royal Vegas welcome bonus for the 35x rollover and unlimited time to clear it.

But I wouldn’t go near the free spins because of the prospect of playing through millions in wagers to clear winnings on a big hit. Drops winnings carry a 70x rollover, so they are no bargains either.

If you get a daily bonus, study the terms and take a shot if the requirements are fair.

Royal Vegas Casino has a casino game collection comparable to most online casinos, if not better.

Their library has more than 900 titles of practically every game type casino players look for. Royal Vegas is missing some mainstays like casino poker and craps but is well stocked in other areas such as live dealer and specialty games.

They take an interesting approach to categorizing the selections. There is a ‘For You’ category with sub-categories such as Cold, Hottest, Recent Winners, Penny Slots, and others.

The standard main categories include Slots, Tables, Live Casino, Arcade, Bingo, Jackpots, and Tournaments. This makes searching through a large collection a little easier. Their title search doesn’t respond too quickly or with consistent accuracy.

I could not play the games for money, but I tried some in the free or demo mode available when signed in. Few of my favorite games were at the site, so I played mostly games that were new to me. Most games loaded within two minutes, and only one of the dozen or so I tested skipped or stalled out during play.

Playing with free money, I abandoned any bankroll management approach and simply bet max on most games through 25 spins or rounds. The results followed a typical return to player form; I started with 100,000 units and finished with 96,505.

Royal Vegas is a Microgaming casino. It does not list its game suppliers on the site nor as a search option, but I picked up these software providers from the games I played: Switch Studios, Pragmatic Play, Flip Five Gaming, Ready Play Gaming, Games Global, On Air Entertainment.

My Top Game Picks

Of the games I played during my Royal Vegas Casino review, here are my favorites:

Deuces Wild video poker

I like video poker games for their high return, and this coin-based game from Flip Five Gaming had a reasonable paytable conducive to strategic play.

Low Stakes Roulette

As the name implies, you can bet as little as a penny on this game, even for outside bets.

I like the European single-zero setup and the French betting options that come with it

American Triple Gold 3X slot

This was a new release from Games Global, and it;s a relatively simple 3-reel, 9-payliine game.

But it is colorful and active entertainment with enough hits to keep you engaged.

Lucky Lemons slot

I closed my eyes and picked this one at random.

I’m glad I did because I won. It’s a Games Global selection with five reels, classic fruits, and bright, animated fun.

Golden Hook

I like the action on this specialty game from Microgaming.

It involves casting and holding the fishing reel as long as possible before the line breaks. Meanwhile, heavy multipliers build.

Royal vEGAS slots

Like all casinos, the vast majority of games at Royal Vegas are slots. Many of them were new to me, and I noticed that many come from Games Global, a relatively young software provider.

There are more than 800 slots at Royal Vegas, a number that continually changes as game suppliers update the library.

Among the Royal Vegas slots are more than 100 jackpots, including progressives with totals that reach the millions. Jackpot slot players will recognize titles such as Mega Moolah, Wheel of Wishes, and Playboy Fortunes.

Jackpot slots comprise a separate category. I recommend using the ‘For You’ category to search for slot games. It’s so much easier.

The bet ranges on the slots I saw were from 10 cents to $100 per spin. But I did not see RTPs listed.

Of the five slots I devoted time to, only one – 3 Lucky Rainbows by Games Global – skipped or stalled during play. It did not affect my balance.

The rest loaded within a couple of minutes and played with ease. Only one of the slots produced a winning session, Lucky Lemons, another Games Global selection. I found all of the slots to be imaginative, compelling, and fun.

With the exception of progressives, slots credit your wagers 100% toward a bonus playthrough.

Royal Vegas vs Other Casinos – Number of Slots

Blackjack

The site has a good collection of 30 blackjack games. The interfaces are different, but the basic games are the same, with 3:2 payouts and insurance offered.

There are single- and multi-hand versions as well as single- and multi-deck options. There are also bonus side bet variations with extra odds payouts for matching suits and ranks.

Most of the games have bet ranges from $1 to $200.

I found the games load slower than blackjack at most sites; blackjack is generally fast-loading because of its simplicity.

I played a $200 Classic Blackjack that restricted splitting to perfect rank matches rather than, say, a 10-Queen or Jack-King. I still won using basic strategy.

Most blackjack games credit just 8% of your wager toward bonus playthrough requirements at Royal Vegas. Classic Blackjack credits only 2%.

Roulette

The roulette selection at Royal Vegas is larger than most sites, with 30 games. There are basic American and European versions, with single- and double-zeros.

The bet options are the same on all of the games, but the rewards can be different.

Royal Vegas also has games with unique takes on the classics that include various multiplier bonuses for hitting a pre-selected number.

I played a basic version, and one of the jazzed-up variations I became intrigued with. The basic was Low Stakes Roulette, a single-zero version that offered penny wagers on both inside and outside options.

I went the limit of $25 on voisins du zero that covered 17 numbers and came out a winner. I also got caught up in 9 Masks of Fire Roulette that selects nine numbers for a chance at up to a 1222x multiplier.

You hit one of the nine, go to slots spin round, and the multipliers start adding up. I had never seen this one before, and now I’ll look for it. Roulette bets count just 8% toward a bonus rollover.

Other Table Games

Baccarat and eastern favorites Sic Bo, Dragon Tiger, and Andar Bahar make up the remainder of the table games at Royal Vegas Casino.

Unlike most operations, the casino falls short by not hosting various casino poker games.

Of their two baccarat games, one is a no-commission game that offers slightly lower odds. Sic Bo is a three-dice game with wagering options similar to craps, while Dragon Tiger and Andar Bahar are simple high-low card games.

Andar Bahar is not in the table games section for some reason. I found it through a title search. Most of these table games have bet limits of $1 to $500.

Baccarat and Sic Bo bets do not credit your bonus rollover, while Andar Bahar and Dragon Tiger count 8%.

Video Poker

Royal Vegas casino has an interesting selection of 10 video poker games.

The interesting part is a set of three themed versions of the standard five-card draw video pokers. Cards of Ra is a Jacks or Better variation that is lower than full pay, thus not as generous for standard strategy.

Cards of Athena is a double bonus version, and Cards of Asgard is an All Aces game that pays extra for four of a kind.

The remaining video pokers at Royal Vegas consist of more common wild-card games with varying paytables.

I played Deuces Wild, and while the paytable was not quite up to full pay, I won on the strength of a straight flush. These games offer coin-based betting with minimum wagers of a penny and maximums of $25.

However, as higher RTP games, they offer 8% or less wagering credit toward a bonus rollover.

Casual Games – Specialty Games

Though there are fewer choices than most online casinos among the Royal Vegas specialty games, there is good variety.

The games are under an Arcade category, but none are strictly skill games. There are scratch cards, crash games, big wheels, and bingo, but no keno or Plinko.

I cast the line on a crash game called Golden Hook, a fishing game in which you cast out and hold the reel as multipliers build until the line breaks. I timed it well enough to come out ahead, but I did not see an RTP on it.

I also tried a horse-track-themed scratch-off called Sure Winner and was quickly reminded that there is no such thing as the title would imply.

The game carries an RTP of 96.4%, better than most scratches.

The bet ranges on these games go from 20 cents to as high as $200. Scratch Cards offer 100% wagering credit toward bonus playthroughs, but other games in this category are not listed in the casino bonus contribution table.

Most will also count 100%, but it’s a good idea to check with casino support if you are playing with a bonus.

Live Dealer Games

There is a strong variety of games in the Royal Vegas Live Casino section, including games you won’t see at most online casinos.

Not only do they have blackjack, roulette, and baccarat, but big wheel games, casino poker, and more. I could not bet on any, but I was able to peek in on the action.

The streams load as fast as games on the digital side but broke up a few times when I was looking in. The games are from Pragmatic Play and On Air.

I was surprised at the low bet limits that start at 10 cents for wheel spins and some card games. But I noticed some card games take bets of up to $30,000.

One game that I immediately noticed was a live slot; I had never seen a slot in a live dealer section.

It was called 9 Pots of Gold and there was a slot machine activated by a button and complete with a host. You can bet from 20 cents to $50 on a spin, and it carries a 96.2% RTP.

Dealers of the card games showed mixed enthusiasm and seemed like trainees, though I did not see any drops or accidental turns.

To discourage card counting, they shuffled more frequently than the 4-6 deck shoes would require. The wheel hosts talked it up much more on their TV studio sets. Instructions are clear, betting is simple, and RTPs are typical.

Live dealer games do not credit your bonus playthrough.

Royal Vegas banking is convenient in the sense that their deposit and withdrawal methods are the same. But transaction information comes with exploration and execution because Royal Vegas has no page with banking information.

Finding info involves going through various phases of help or actually making the transaction. They do not honor cryptocurrency, as do many online casinos.

Deposit Options Summary

Royal Vegas offers card, Interac, and e-wallet options for depositing but no cryptocurrency, as do many sites.

The site does not have a deposit information page like most casinos do, so you must go through the deposit process to discover pertinent info.

The maximum deposits are unlimited, depending on your bank or e-wallet balance. You will be required to verify your identity with a deposit of $3,000 or more. The deposit speeds depend on the method you use. Royal Vegas does not charge fees, but your bank or e-wallet may.

  • Fastest Deposit Method: All vary
  • Additional Fees: No

Royal Vegas encourages Interac deposits, so that is probably the best method. Depositing with Interac involves choosing your bank and signing into your bank account, so the speed depends on that process.

As an account holder outside of Canada, I could not test this.

I have found most card deposits from the US to online casinos to be instant, but transaction speeds with Canada banks may take longer.

Customer support promises instant deposits, but with the caveat “However, deposits can be pending for a period of time.”

Withdrawal Options Summary

Withdrawal options are the same as deposits at Royal Vegas. The casino charges a $5 fee for bank transfers and your bank or e-wallet may also charge you a fee.

The site’s withdrawal policy states that ID verification may be required for a “large withdrawal,” so be prepared to produce proof of ID and residence.

  • Is Verification Required? Yes – Photo ID and proof of residence
  • Fastest Withdrawal Method: e-Wallets – 1-2 days

I did not withdraw, but any of the e-wallet methods listed appear to be the best methods for withdrawal because of the speed.

The $50 minimum withdrawal amounts are higher than at most casinos. Allowing card withdrawals is an exception over most online casinos, too. So it’s nice to see the option here.

As a cryptocurrency player, I have never withdrawn with a card.

Royal Vegas has a Help Centre that provides a lot of information, but if you need more, you can reach a chat service through the Centre. That is the extent of their support.

  • Email: None
  • Live Chat: Yes, real persona
  • Language: English
  • Phone: None
  • Response Time: 2 minutes

Here’s How I Tested It

I found my way to chat representatives as the only resort to a few questions on deposits and bonuses. Here’s how it went:

My Experience With Royal Vegas Support

Royal Vegas customer support is limited, so I had to rely on the Help Centre and Chat to get any info outside of what was in Terms.

The chat reps were quick to respond, and they answered questions in a roundabout way.

The final answer came to a simple recitation of their Terms section. You do have the option to download the chat transcript. An email service would help with extensive queries.

Overall, the experience navigating the site is “okay”.

Royal Vegas would not take my card deposit, but most games were available in demo mode.

That made for fun exploration of their collection using a laptop but awkward with a smartphone.

Finding games and navigating was OK,  but finding pertinent information through their help sources was sometimes difficult.

They could make chat more easily accessible and add email support for more detailed questions.

The Best Features

  • The game library included many titles I had not seen before but made me want to explore further.
  • Free game options always help when trying new selections.
  • The live casino had a slot game and other “game show” experiences with lively hosts.
  • Bet ranges start with pennies and go as high as a high-roller wants.

Royal Vegas Vs. Other Gambling Sites

Royal Vegas Casino doesn’t exactly soar above other casinos, just holds its own. It has a solid game collection but falters with its bonus restrictions and limited customer service. All told, it is an average site.

Player Protection

Royal Vegas Casino offers responsible gambling measures along the lines of industry standards and regulatory provisions. They have a Responsible Gambling link at the bottom of main pages that takes you to a page with:

  • Information that includes links to Gambling Therapy, Responsible Gambling Council, and GamCare.
  • Underage Gambling, a statement and links to filtering companies.
  • Self Assessment, a nine-question test to indicate possible gambling problems
  • Deposit Limits, which allows you to set daily, weekly, and monthly limits through their Help Centre.
  • Self Exclusion, which gives you options for ceasing play for a minimum of 24 hours “take a break” period, or minimum six-month self-exclusion period.

These are self-executing measures. Though Royal Vegas sets single deposit limits, they do not restrict the number of deposits you can make over time periods.

Most casinos are aware of the problem gambling issue and have similar provisions to protect players and promote transparency and fairness. Responsible gambling has gained more attention, particularly in US states where gambling laws change frequently.

My Verdict

This casino has a rating of 3.5/5

If I lived in Canada, I’d probably give Royal Vegas another shot.

I’d shy away from most bonuses, drops, or other contests because the playthroughs are hard to clear.

But there are some exciting games at RVC that are worth exploring. If I won, I wouldn’t go after large withdrawals since their processing involves too much.

Canadian gamblers may find Royal Vegas a site worth checking out.
